1 / Hello Maxime, can you introduce yourself?

I started to work for Cdiscount in 2013 as a Junior Project Manager. I was able to validate my Master in Logistics thanks to this experience. I was then hired as Process and Methods Manager in our warehouse dedicated to products weighing less than 30 kilos, in Cestas near Bordeaux.

Since the beginning of 2014, I have been in charge of the logistics business of Cdiscount Fulfilment. To sustain this growing activity, we have a dedicated warehouse and I am in charge of it with my team. 

 

 2 / How is your team organized?

We are currently a team of over 50 people. There are 3 team leaders who manage the following activities: shipping, scheduling and preparation and finally the reception and management of merchandise.

We can rely on all members of the team, most of them have been present since the launch of the service. The constant growth of Fulfillment is partly due to the good collaboration of all these people and their daily involvement.

 

 3 / Your daily challenges?

The first daily challenge is of course to respect of the customer promise in terms of delivery delay which means preparing and shipping all the orders every day. In addition, as a service provider for our sellers, it is essential for us to meet other objectives that are the integration within 48 hours of the deliveries of the sellers, preparation of returns …

4 / What are the highlights of the year for the team?

Of course, the year-end period with Christmas remains the most exciting time of the year. To give figures, we have multiplied by 3 the number of parcels sent out during Christmas 2016 compared to Christmas 2015. To cope with these peaks, the team has the ability to adapt quickly, including shift schedules.

 

5 / What has been put in place to improve the service to sellers?

We have evolved the technical facilities (shipping conveyor, packaging tables) in order to increase our daily shipping capacity. The implementation of Cdiscount new Logistics operating system also allowed us to improve our reception and storage processes.

 

6 / Why would you advise sellers to entrust their stock to you?

We have several “advantages” to highlight to our sellers.

From a logistical point of view:

  • Our network of pick-up points and thus our transport costs are more than competitive (flow of shipping mixed with of Cdiscount orders);
  • Faster delivery times to their customers;
  •  The seller no longer needs a warehouse, he can have his products delivered directly to the warehouse Cdiscount Fulfilment from his supplier.

 Furthermore, from a commercial point of view, using the Cdiscount Fulfilment service allows sellers offers to be part of Cdiscount loyalty program (Cdiscount à Volonté) and thus improve the visibility of their offers, ensure fast and free delivery for customers.
